Trip Overview
The Cusco Region is home to many excellent hotels, but the most unique – and adventurous – accommodation option is without doubt the Skylodge Adventure Suites. The luxury Skylodge capsules hang like condor nests from a cliff face in the Sacred Valley. You’ll sleep in your transparent bubble, with amazing views along the Sacred Valley below.
The cliff-hanging hotel, which features four transparent pods secured to the mountainside, was the idea of Ario Ferri, a Peruvian project developer and mountain climber. He wanted people to experience what it was like to spend the night on the side of a mountain, and so he created Skylodge, one of the most amazing hotel experiences in the world.
Note: The Skylodge has a minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
Day by day schedule
Day 1: Cusco to the Sacred Valley and Skylodge
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley at around 1 p.m. and make our way to Pachar, where the Skylodge is located. When you arrive, you’ll be given all the necessary safety instructions and equipment for reaching the capsules.
Be warned: the ascent is not for the fainthearted. There are two ways to climb up to the hotel, both of which take an hour or two depending on your pace. You can either climb up the 400-meter via ferrata, a path...
Day 2: Descent by Via Ferrata and Zip Line
In the morning you’ll wake up to the awe-inspiring sunrise across the Sacred Valley, drinking a cup of tea as the colors slowly shift. After breakfast, it will be time to make the descent back to the valley floor. This can be done by a combination of climbing and rappelling or zip lining.
