Your Name:

Miguel Angel Hurtado Valencia

Your position in Valencia Travel:

Operations Manager

Miguel Hurtado is our Operations Manager at Valencia Travel. He is responsible for how things operate in the field such as the hiking routes and the trekking logistics on your Cusco tours. Whether you are on the Ausangate Trek or The Lare Trek to Machu Picchu, Miguel has made sure that everything runs smoothly, right down to the last detail.

How Long have you worked for Valencia Travel?

I have been working in Valencia Travel for 8 years

What do you love about working in the Travel industry?

Operations is a dynamic part of the company. Sometimes you have to think on your feet and expect the unexpected. It is certainly action-packed working in Operations! The position requires a lot of responsibility and I love a challenge. The most important is that our passengers fulfill their dreams on their visit to Peru and speak well about the service they have received on their trip, most importantly, that people return home happy.

Not only does Miguel design the trekking routes and organize the team out in the field, he is also the person who resolves any issues when groups are on their Peru adventure tour. If someone is suffering from the high altitude on their Lares Trek, or if the correct entrance ticket hasn't been bought for Machu Picchu vacation packages. Miguel will sort it out quickly!

What is your favourite place to visit in Peru?

My favourite place to visit in Peru is the hot springs in the town of Lares. The springs are in a beautiful setting in the mountains, have all the temperatures of pools and are medicinal, helping with arthritis and other ailments.

Where would you like to travel, given the opportunity?

I love going to the Peruvian jungle. Puerto Maldonado and Manu National Park are on our doorstep here in Cusco and the amount of wildlife you can see is mind-blowing.

What is your favourite Peruvian Dish / Drink?

I love "Pollo a la Braza" (Spit-roast chicken) and our chicken stew from Peru, called "estofado"

This is Miguel on a mountain bike tour traveling from Cusco to Manu National Park. Manu is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet and is one of Miguel´s favorite palces to visit in Peru. We are very lucky to have Manu on our doorstep!

What is your most memorable moment working for Valencia Travel?

My favourite memories are those when we help people fulfill their dreams. on their trip to Peru. We are very passionate about our customer experience in Valencia Travel

Where do you see yourself in one years’ time?

I would like to see myself working in a different department in the company to have a better, all-round understanding of how the company operates as a whole.

On a Sacred Valley tour from Cusco, you can see what life is like in the remote communities of Peru. When Miguel isn´t working he often takes time out to visit the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

What is the best travel tip you can give to visitors to Peru?

Enjoy life to the maximum, while you are alive, and trust in Valencia Travel 100% - we will make your dreams a reality and offer the best possible trip to Peru..
