If you’ve never been sandboarding before, then think about sledging and convert from snow to sand. With bigger dunes, faster boards and a lot warmer than a winters day, what are you waiting for? There are two ways to sandboard. You can either lie down on your stomach and zoom, or, for the more adventurous, stand up tall. Whatever level of experience you have, whatever style you would prefer to try, Huacachina has all the options. If you want the adrenalin without the risk, search out a dune buggy, and zip around on the sand.

Maras and Moray by mountain bike or ATV
Here is a day trip for the hardy adventurers! Visit the ancient salt pans still in use for the extraction of salt in the small village of Maras. Cycle/ drive to the circular stone terraces of Moray, an ancient Inca experimental agricultural site which has to be seen to be believed. As you head to these impressive living examples of history, fly by the spectacular scenery to appreciate the geography of the area.

The Lares Trek
The Lares trek is one of the best treks in Peru for hikers who are also culture enthusiasts. It winds through the Sacred Valley, passing through Andean villages and llama herds. In fact, it is even nicknamed the “Weaver’s Route” for the traditions of textiles the area. On top of cultural heritage, Lares boasts incredible mountain views and hot springs. The only people you are likely to meet on this route are the local Andean families and their llamas and there is even the option to spend the night with one of the families along the route. The Lares Trek also hooks up with the train to Machu Picchu to not miss out on tis epic archaeological Inca City.
