Lake Titicaca is a beautiful freshwater lake that straddles the border between Bolivia and Peru. It’s a mystical place, and according to legend it was here that the Inca civilization was born. And at the heart of many of these legends lies Isla del Sol, the “Island of the Sun,” the largest island in Lake Titicaca.
This full-day excursion takes you from the city of Puno, on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, to Copacabana on the Bolivian side and then onto La Paz. On the way, we’ll take you to Isla del Sol, where we’ll explore all of the most fascinating aspects of this mystical island.
We begin our day early in the morning with an overland transfer from Puno to Copacabana, where we’ll have a brief tour of the Sanctuary of Copacabana. Then we’ll go to the shores of Lake Titicaca and board a catamaran cruise ship to sail towards Isla del Sol (Sun Island), the mythical birthplace of the Inca civilization.
